.SYNOPSIS...
Slightly cooler temperatures will arrive today and will stick
around for the next seven days. Breezy afternoon winds will occur
daily. A thin layer of haze will blanket skies across Eastern WA
and Northern ID due to smoke from several fires across the Inland
Northwest.

.DISCUSSION...

Today through Wednesday: Temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees cooler
today, staying consistent over the next week, with only slight
fluctuations by a couple degrees. Flow will stay mainly zonal with a
light ridge building in on Sunday, allowing for continued sunny
skies, hot temperatures, and slightly increased winds. This zonal
flow vs. the normal high pressures we have won`t allow for the days
with no wind, although a nice light breeze with this heat may feel
more enjoyable. Nighttime lows will generally be in the upper 50s to
mid 60s, allowing those without AC to open up their house at night.

Zonal flow will also keep pushing smoke from the Pioneer Fire and
additional fires in Oregon towards Eastern WA and the ID Panhandle.
Expect hazy skies to continue, with period of smoke making it to the
surface from time to time. Most of the smoke will stay elevated,
with decreased air quality around Lake Chelan. The latest air
quality readings and smoke outlooks can be found at fire.airnow.gov.

.AVIATION...

06Z TAFS: VFR conditions will prevail. Local reductions in
visibility possible near and downwind of Lake Chelan due to smoke
from the Pioneer Fire. Locally breezy/gusty westerly winds
expected into tonight, particularly at KEAT and KMWH.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE AND/OR ALTERNATE SCENARIOS: High confidence in
VFR conditions.
