This storm lifts northward on Sunday across the Great Lakes region with rain and gusty winds for the eastern third of the country. Meanwhile, a storm approaching the Pacific Northwest will bring a wintry mixture, gusty winds and heavy snow into the Cascades and northern Rockies through Sunday.

Synopsis: Areas of dense fog are expected across the Gulf waters early this morning. After that, relatively benign marine conditions will persist across the local waters through the upcoming weekend, owing to a strong ridge of high pressure. Winds will generally be out of the east to southeast around 10 kts on Saturday, and then southerly 10-15 kts on Sunday. Mostly dry conditions should continue over the coming days. Seas up to around 2 to 3 feet for Atlantic waters, while Gulf seas may reach up to 2 feet.
