Temperatures will continue to moderate across the east half of the nation through at least the first half of this week. A developing storm across the Southern Plains may bring some heavy rain from the Plains to the lower Great Lakes region, a wintry mixture and accumulating snow across the Midwest and Upper Mississippi Valley into mid-week. The west remains unsettled with occasional rain and snow.

Synopsis: Low pressure off the coast of North Florida will continue to move away from the area as high pressure over the Southeast U.S. builds into Florida today, then moves over the western Atlantic Tuesday through Thursday. North to northeast winds today will become east and eventually southeast as the week progresses. Dry weather is expected through most of the week.

Gulf Stream Hazards: Seas occasionally to 6 feet through Tuesday, then build to occasionally as high as 8 feet on Wednesday.
