Winter Storm To Impact Parts Of The Ohio Valley and Great Lakes To Northern New England

A developing winter storm will sweep up through the Northeastern quadrant of the U.S. over the next two days. A swath of heavy snow will be followed by lake effect snow from parts of the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes to northern New England. Also, locally heavy rain will be possible across portions of the Northeast, while a potential line of strong thunderstorms may roll through the Mid-Atlantic.

Synopsis: A strong low pressure system will track to our northeast today. As the low lifts to our north today, a cold front will cross our region and through our waters by this evening. The low will stall over southeastern Canada through the weekend with multiple disturbances spiraling around it. High pressure will gradually build in from the central United States late this weekend into early next week. Small Craft Advisories will likely be needed Thursday night and into this weekend.
