Beta Bringing Heavy Rainfall to Texas and Louisiana; Dangerous Rip Currents Along the East Coast

Beta will continue to bring heavy rainfall and flooding to parts of Texas and Louisiana, with areas of rainfall also gradually spreading across the Southeast. Elsewhere, Hurricane Teddy will remain in the Atlantic, but bring dangerous rip currents, high surf, and swells to much of the East Coast. A low pressure system in the northeastern Pacific will bring rainfall to the Northwest by Wednesday.

Synopsis: A tight pressure gradient across the area remains in place between a high pressure located over the eastern seaboard and a decaying frontal boundary stretching across the Florida Straits. Expect breezy east-northeast winds prevailing over the coastal waters. Also, a large northeasterly swell from Hurricane Teddy will further keep seas elevated seas, primarily across the northern Atlantic waters. Conditions should begin to improve later in the week as wind speeds decrease and swells begins to subside.
