A powerful Nor'easter, first of the winter season, is expected to roll-up the Northeastern Seaboard and impact the region with a number of hazards this weekend. Very heavy wet snow and high gusty winds will affect a good portion of New England and rain will lash coastal areas. Meanwhile, dangerous fire weather conditions continue for southern California this weekend and likely into next week.

Synopsis: A strong low pressure system will lift quickly northeast over the region today, bringing rain and windy conditions. A secondary surface low will form near the Carolinas on Monday before moving well offshore into Tuesday. High pressure will then build across the eastern U.S. for the second half of the week.
