A powerful 965 mb low pressure center located 1300 miles west
northwest of the Bay Area will move toward the Pacific Northwest
through late week bringing a swath of sub-tropical moisture laden
air with heavy rain and wind to the entire forecast area Wednesday
into Thursday. A combination of heavy wind, large seas, heavy rain,
and scattered thunderstorms will result in similarly hazardous
conditions to the mid December 2018 storm. A very large and long
period west swell will arrive Thursday morning and last into
Friday before subsiding. Mariners are urged to monitor weather
forecasts closely this week.
