Strong Cold Front Crossing Great Lakes and Northeast U.S.; Elevated Fire Weather in Southern California

A strong cold front will bring brisk to high winds across portions of the Great Lakes and the Northeast this weekend. Cold air arriving behind the front will trigger lake-effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes and accumulating snow over the higher terrain of the Northeast. Gusty offshore winds will maintain elevated fire weather conditions this weekend across coastal southern California.
