A storm tracking along the southern U.S. will bring gusty winds and critical fire weather threats to the High Plains; and potential for severe storms with damaging winds and heavy rain in the Lower Mississippi Valley. A strong Pacific storm will bring lower elevation rain and heavy mountain snow to the Northwest. Snow levels will dip to 1,500 feet creating hazardous mountain travel.
