Excessive heat warnings and heat advisories are in effect across the south-central Plains, Mid to Lower Mississippi Valley and from the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast. Synopsis: A lee-side trough will remain across the Mid Atlantic region through the middle of the week. A back door front is expected dip down across the region tonight, before stalling near the area through Tuesday into Tuesday night. This front may return northward Wednesday, before a cold front moves into the region Wednesday night. This front will slowly move across the area through Thursday as low pressure moves along the boundary. High pressure then builds across the northeast Saturday, then offshore later Sunday.
