
Cold Temperatures for the Eastern U.S.; Lake Effect Snow in the Great Lakes; Heavy Rain in the Pacific Northwest
Cold temperatures will continue across much of the eastern U.S. into today. Heavy lake effect snow continues into today east of Lakes Erie and Ontario. Two Pacific cold fronts will cross the Pacific Northwest early this week followed by another atmospheric river. Tuesday: Southwest wind 20 to 25 knots. Gusts up to 30 knots increasing to 35 knots in the afternoon. Slight chance of light freezing rain and snow in the morning. Waves 4 to 6 feet. Waves occasionally to 8 feet. A gale warning may be needed. Tuesday Night: West wind 20 to 25 knots with gales to around 35 knots easing to 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots early in the morning. Mostly cloudy in the evening then becoming partly cloudy. Waves 4 to 7 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet early in the morning. Waves occasionally to 9 feet. Wednesday: Southwest wind 5 to 10 knots with gusts to around 20 knots rising to 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots early in the afternoon, then becoming south 20 to 25 knots with gusts to around 30 knots late in the afternoon. Slight chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 2 feet building to 1 to 3 feet late in the afternoon. A small craft advisory may be needed. | |
