In the Pacific Northwest into northern California, areas of heavy rain for the coastal ranges and heavy snowfall over the higher elevations of the Cascades are expected into Friday. Rest Of Today: Southwest wind 5 to 10 knots becoming south 10 to 15 knots early in the afternoon, then rising to 15 to 25 knots late in the afternoon. Mostly sunny late in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Waves around 1 foot building to 3 to 4 feet late in the afternoon.

Tonight: South wind 15 to 25 knots becoming southwest up to 30 knots after midnight, then easing to 15 to 25 knots early in the morning. Gusts up to 35 knots. Rain likely through around midnight, then chance of rain after midnight. Waves 4 to 6 feet building to 6 to 8 feet in the late evening and early morning, then subsiding to 5 to 7 feet early in the morning.

Friday: West wind 15 to 20 knots becoming 15 to 25 knots late in the morning, then becoming west 15 to 25 knots in the afternoon. Chance of rain in the afternoon. Waves 3 to 5 feet.

Friday Night: Northwest wind 15 to 25 knots veering north 15 to 20 knots late in the evening, then becoming 10 to 20 knots after midnight becoming 10 to 15 knots early in the morning. Slight chance of rain through around midnight. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 2 feet early in the morning.
