This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight

Strong northwest winds with gusts to 25 knots are expected this
afternoon and early evening for the waters of the North Shore. A
Small Craft Advisory is in effect. The winds will diminish shortly
after sunset.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Strong southerly winds are forecast Monday over the South Shore
waters. Gusts up to around 25 to 30 kts will produce hazardous
conditions for small craft. Small Craft Advisories are in effect.

A low pressure system will affect the region Tuesday and
Wednesday. Strong and gusty north to northwest winds are expected.
Conditions will likely become hazardous at times, mainly for
smaller vessels. Occasional gales of 35 to 40 knots are possible
Tuesday night and Wednesday morning over the North Shore waters.

The cold air and gusty winds Tuesday night and Wednesday will
generate freezing spray. Heavy freezing spray is possible.

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 6 PM CST
MONDAY...

* WHAT...South winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and waves
  1 to 2 ft expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Lake Superior.

* WHEN...From 7 AM to 6 PM CST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind gusts will be strongest near the
  shore along the South Shore of Lake Superior. Warm air
  temperatures on Monday are expected to lead to stable marine
  layer beyond a few nautical miles from the shoreline.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Anyone operating a smaller vessel should avoid navigating in
hazardous conditions.
