The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Nearshore and Open Waters from Holland to Whitehall MI...

* Until 1215 AM EDT.

* At 1016 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 38 nm west of the Holland Light to 35 nm west of
  the Grand Haven Light, moving northeast at 20 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Port Sheldon Harbor, White Lake Pier Heads, Grand Haven Light,
  Muskegon Light, and The White Lake Pierheads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

This hazardous weather outlook is for the nearshore waters from
St Joseph to Manistee.

Periods of thunderstorms will be possible today and tonight. Some
of these could become locally strong to severe, especially this
afternoon through tonight. The main threats will be strong winds,
locally heavy rainfall, and cloud to water lightning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Periods of thunderstorms will be possible again through Saturday.
