For the Gale Watch, west winds 25 to 35 knots with gusts up to 40 knots possible. * WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay to Vermilion OH, and the open waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay to Vermilion OH. * WHEN...For the Low Water Advisory, until 1 AM EST Sunday. For the Gale Watch, from Monday morning through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause shifting ice and pose navigational difficulties. Below normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The water level at Toledo as of 224 PM EST is 7 inches below low water datum. The critical mark for safe navigation is 9 inches below datum. Water levels are expected to reach 12 to 18 inches below datum early this evening before slowly rising tonight. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and waves.
