This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT Rip currents: There is a high risk of rip currents along the Atlantic beaches. Thunderstorms: Isolated thunderstorms are forecast over portions of Southwest Florida this afternoon and evening. Lightning is the primary hazard with these thunderstorms. Heat: A limited risk of excessive heat will continue for portions of interior South Florida with the risk elevated across portions of Southwest Florida this afternoon. Heat index values could reach the lower 100s today particularly across the interior west. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY A more typical pattern of diurnal isolated to scattered thunderstorms is forecast to return through much of the upcoming week. Main concern will be occasional to frequent lightning strikes, brief periods of locally heavy rain, and gusty winds.
