A Flood Watch is in effect for parts of central and southern Maryland, northeastern and eastern Virginia, and the District of Columbia from 8 PM to 3 AM tonight. Multiple rounds of showers and strong to severe thunderstorms expected well into this evening into parts of the overnight. Damaging wind gusts and scattered instances of flash flooding are the main threats, especially if heavier rain falls over urban and poor drainage areas.
