The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point MD...
  Chesapeake Bay from Sandy Point to North Beach MD...
  Chester River to Queenstown MD...
  Eastern Bay...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 622 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 7 nm west of Fort Smallwood State Park to 13 nm west
  of Annapolis to near National Harbor, moving southeast at 15 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by
           suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel.

* Locations impacted include...
  Kent Narrows Bridge, Magothy River, Chester River, Eastern Bay,
  Greenbury Point, Shady Side, Herring Bay, Highland Beach, Sandy
  Point State Park, Severn River, Bloody Point Light, Thomas Point
  Light, Poplar Island, Parsons Island, Pinehurst, Gibson Island,
  Miles River, Love Point, Naval Academy, and Baltimore Light.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Flood Watch is in effect from 2PM this afternoon through this
evening. Scattered instances of flooding are expected. There is a
potential for more widespread flooding with considerable impact.

A few severe thunderstorms are also possible which may bring
isolated instances of damaging wind gusts.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Scattered instances of flash flooding are possible Tuesday
afternoon.
