High winds will lead to instances of downed trees and power outages. A Wind Advisory is in effect for southern Maryland and the Virginia Piedmont through this evening. Isolated instances of wind damage are possible. A Gale Warning is in effect for the waters until 6 PM. A Storm Warning is in effect for the northern Chesapeake Bay from north of Pooles Island to Drum Point and for the Tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Cobb Island from 6 PM this evening until 2 AM. A Gale Warning is in effect for the rest of the waters tonight. Isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and hail up to quarter-size are possible in northeast Maryland this evening.
