This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Tornado Watch continues for northeastern Maryland and portions
of the waters until 6 PM. In addition to the threat for tornadoes,
damaging wind gusts and large hail will also be possible.

A Flood Watch is in effect for much of the area through 11 PM
this evening, for the potential of flash flooding. Multiple rounds
of thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall may lead to scattered
instances of flash flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM EDT...

For the following areas...
Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point MD...
Chesapeake Bay north of Pooles Island MD...
Chester River to Queenstown MD...
Patapsco River including Baltimore Harbor...

At 1242 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts
were located along a line extending from 33 nm northwest of Middle
River to 18 nm west of Fort Smallwood State Park to 9 nm east of
Tidal Basin, moving northeast at 30 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts in excess of 50 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher
         wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer
         significant damage in high winds. Waterspouts can easily
         overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.

Locations impacted include...
Fort Smallwood State Park, Turkey Point, North Point State Park, Hart
Miller Island, Gibson Island, Bodkin Point, Tolchester Beach, Worton
Point, Pooles Island, Spesutie Island, Love Point, Naval Academy,
Gunpowder River, Sandy Point State Park, Baltimore Light, Severn
River, Northeast River, Sevenfoot Knoll, Pinehurst and Mayo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 PM EDT for central and
northern Maryland...and the adjacent coastal waters. A Tornado Watch
also remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for northern and northeastern
Maryland...and the adjacent coastal waters.

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
