* WHAT...Southwest winds 5 to 10 kt expected.

* WHERE...Chesapeake Bay north of Sandy Point MD, Tidal Potomac
  from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD, Patapsco River including
  Baltimore Harbor, and Chester River to Queenstown MD.

* WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to 6 AM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Chesapeake Bay north of Pooles Island MD...

* Until 930 PM EDT.

* At 802 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm producing waterspouts was
  located near Gunpowder River, moving east at 10 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and waterspouts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by
           suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel.
           Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas.

* Locations impacted include...
  Northeast River, Turkey Point, Spesutie Island, Aberdeen Proving
  Ground, and Havre De Grace.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected this afternoon
into this evening. A few thunderstorms could produce damaging
wind gusts and localized flash flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Thunderstorms are likely on Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening
as a cold front moves through the region. Some storms may be
capable of producing damaging wind gusts and scattered instances
of flash flooding.

Spotter activation may be needed on Tuesday.
