A line of gusty showers and isolated lightning storms will approach and begin to move into Lake and Volusia counties toward early to mid afternoon. This activity will have the potential to produce strong wind gusts up to 40 to 45 mph as it progresses southward through the I-4 corridor. Additional storm threats will include occasional cloud to ground lightning strikes and heavy downpours. This line will then weaken and diminish through late afternoon and evening as it continues southward. .HIGH WIND IMPACT... South to southwest winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph across the area today, shortly after sunrise. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 9 AM to 4 PM across Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange and northern Brevard counties where wind gusts up to 35 to 40 mph are forecast. Farther south across east central Florida, windy conditions are still expected, but gusts will be closer to 30 to 35 mph. Make sure to secure loose outdoor objects. .RIP CURRENT AND SURF IMPACT... A high risk of life-threatening rip currents and a strong northward flowing longshore current will exist at all central Florida Atlantic beaches today. Entering the water is highly discouraged. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. .WIND AND SEA IMPACT... A fresh to strong south to southwest breeze ahead of an approaching strong cold front will produce hazardous boating conditions across the coastal waters today, with a Small Craft Advisory in effect for the entire coastal waters through late afternoon. Poor to hazardous boating conditions will continue into tonight as wind speeds remain elevated and gradually become north to northwest behind the passing front. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. At least a moderate risk of dangerous rip currents will continue into this week. Poor to hazardous boating conditions will continue through Monday. An area of low pressure is forecast to develop along the northern Gulf coast and push east to northeast across north Florida into midweek, with another cold front moving through the region. This will increase rain chances and may also lead to isolated lightning storms across the area Wednesday. This passing system will also lead to redeveloping poor to hazardous boating conditions across the coastal waters midweek. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today and tonight. $$ Weitlich
