Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service San Juan PR 507 AM AST Mon Jul 1 2024 AMZ711>745-PRZ001>013-020915- San Juan and Vicinity-Northeast-Southeast-Eastern Interior- North Central-Central Interior-Ponce and Vicinity-Northwest- Western Interior-Mayaguez and Vicinity-Southwest-Culebra-Vieques- The nearshore and off shore Atlantic and Caribbean Coastal Waters- 507 AM AST Mon Jul 1 2024 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Puerto Rico. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight .Lightning...Numerous thunderstorms possible across across portions of eastern and southern PR tonight. Plan to stop all outdoor activity and move to shelters. .Excessive Rainfall...Flooding of urban areas, roads, small streams, and washes. Isolated flash floods possible. .Excessive Heat...This level of heat affects most individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts possible in some health systems and in heat-sensitive industries. .Wind...Windy conditions. Outdoor items could blow around or be damaged. .Marine Conditions...Seas equal or greater than 10 feet across the southern waters of the islands. Dangerous conditions for small craft. .Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are likely in the surf zone particularly across all east and south-facing beaches of the islands. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Hurricane Beryl will move across the Caribbean Sea and pass just south of the area on Tuesday. This will increase the flood threat across the islands, promote breezy to locally stronger winds, and bring hazardous seas and life-threatening rip currents across most east and south facing beaches of the islands. Another tropical wave with potential to develop into a tropical system could follow a similar track of Beryl by Thursday, maintaining hazardous seas and life-threatening rip currents, as well as bringing squally weather across the area.
