...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat index values between 105 and 110 expected this
  afternoon.

* WHERE...Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Collier, Hendry, Glades
  and Mainland Monroe Counties.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

...Scattered to Numerous Showers and Thunderstorms This Afternoon...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Atlantic coastal waters,
southeast Florida, southern Florida, southwest Florida and Gulf of
Mexico.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Thunderstorms: Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms can
be expected today over South Florida. Storms will be capable of heavy
rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds, with the potential for
localized flooding in areas of poor drainage.

Excessive Heat: Peak heat indices between 105 and 110 degrees will
be possible today over southeast Florida with peak heat indices
between 108 and 113 degrees over southwest Florida. A heat advisory
is in effect for the entire area through 8 PM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will be possible each day through the
period. The strongest storms could produce gusty winds and heavy downpours.
Slow storm motions could also result in localized flooding, particularly
near the metro areas.

Heat indices over 100 degrees are expected each day through the next week,
with peak values up to 110 possible.
