This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for east central Florida.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Scattered to numerous showers and lightning storms will develop
by early afternoon and move northeast toward the Atlantic coast
through the late afternoon and early evening hours. Localized
heavy rainfall, gusty winds and cloud to ground lightning strikes
will accompany storms today. Head indoors quickly, if thunder is
heard.

.RIP CURRENT AND SURF IMPACT...
A High risk of rip currents exists at all east central Florida
beaches today. Entering the surf is strongly discouraged. If
you do enter the surf and are caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

.EXCESSIVE HEAT IMPACT...
The combination of hot temperatures and high dewpoints will
produce heat indices from 102 to 107 degrees this afternoon. Those
outdoors this afternoon should take adequate breaks from the heat.

.RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
The Saint Johns River at Astor is forecast to remain in minor
flood through early next week.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Hot temperatures this weekend will continue into Sunday with peak
heat indices of 103 to 107 degrees. A high coverage of showers
and lightning storms will persistent on Sunday with lowering
coverage of showers and lightning storms early next week.
Developing onshore flow Wednesday through Friday will elevate the
rip current risk for the latter part of the next week.
