Based on eyewitness videos, it appears the tornado touched down
in a marshland area north of Old Folkstone Road. The tornado then
moved southeast along the edge of a subdivision where tree and
roof damage were noted. Most wooden fences along the path of the
tornado were damaged or blown down. The tornado then moved through
an apartment complex where the worst damage was noted. Here,
portions of roof decking of one of the units were uplifted in the
opposite direction of the movement of the tornado. Multiple trees
were snapped in this area as well, with some falling on the
apartment complex causing additional damage. The tornado then
glanced an RV park, damaging trees and a couple of RVs. It appears
the tornado then crossed Old Folkstone Road near Food Lion where
eyewitnesses observed the tornado lofting debris. Based on
eyewitness videos, the tornado then lifted as it approached North
Carolina Highway 210. In this area, minor damage occurred at the
Sneads Ferry Library, and a car was damaged after it was partially
uplifted and dropped back down.

A tornado touched down near the Mill Creek neighborhood just west of
North Carolina Highway 210. Minor tree damage was noted in, and
near, the neighborhood. The tornado then strengthened as it moved
southeast across the highway. The tornado then hit a residence
across the highway from the Mill Creek neighborhood. It was at this
location that the tornado caused notable damage to the roof decking,
and front outer wall, of the home. Roof debris was lofted and thrown
up to 100 yards downwind into a row of trees at the back edge of the
property. The home had plastic hurricane shutters, but the force of
the wind pushed the front windows away from the wall and partially
into the home. The tornado then began to lift as it moved through a
commercial property where minor tree damage was noted. Debris from
the home was lofted over the commercial buildings, and was found 150
yards away on the south side of the commercial property.
