Subject: Changes to Flood Stage Categories for the Gunnison River at
Delta, CO (DELC2).

Effective June 19th, 2026, NWS flood stages at the Gunnison River at
Delta, Colorado will change. Flood surveys, HEC-RAS modeling, and
coordination with local officials and emergency management indicate
lowering flood stages at all categories will more accurately
represent the levels when impacts begin near Delta, CO. River
forecasts will now be issued when water levels are expected to reach
or exceed 8.5 feet, and Flood Warnings will be issued when water
levels are expected to reach or exceed 9.0 feet.
