DISCUSSION...

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop over the region by
this afternoon in association with a passing low pressure system.
Some of these storms may become severe with damaging winds and
possibly some hail the main threats. Some storms may rotate and
could produce a brief, weak tornado as well.

Swaths of very heavy rainfall fell on Saturday. While the activity
today should be more scattered in nature and have faster movement,
if any training of storms occurs on areas that were hard hit on
Saturday, the potential for more flash flooding would be greater.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Activation of the Regional Spotter Network Likely.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
MONDAY...Thunderstorm...High Wind...Dangerous Heat Potential.
TUESDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.
WEDNESDAY...High Wind...Dangerous Heat Potential.
THURSDAY...Thunderstorm...High Wind...Dangerous Heat Potential.
FRIDAY and SATURDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...

Hot and humid weather is expected to develop Monday and persist
for much of the week. Triple digit heat index values will be
common, with values reaching dangerous levels in some places. Heat
headlines will likely be needed.

A cold front is forecast to move across the region Thursday night
into Friday, bringing a chance for thunderstorms and some relief
from the heat into next weekend.
