Rain chances will be much lower today through Tuesday, staying
below 20% across South Texas. Warm temperatures return today, with
highs mid-80s to low 90s. Low to medium (20-55%) rain chances
will return Tuesday night as a cold front moves in from the
northwest. Dry air will surge in Thursday, lowering temperatures
back into the 70s. This reprieve from the heat will be short-lived
as temperatures soar back into the 80s and 90s by Friday
afternoon.

LIFR/IFR conditions due to low stratus and areas of fog will improve
through 15-17Z. Clouds are expected to hang around through much of
today, but CIGs will be above 3500ft. Conditions are expected to
lower this evening, but models are indicating less chance of dense
fog. Tonight VSBYs will vary between MVFR/VFR, while CIGs vary
between IFR/MVFR. S-SE winds across S TX today with gusts 20-25
knots at ALI and CRP TAF sites this afternoon.

A gentle to moderate (BF 3-4) southeasterly breeze will persist
until Tuesday, with a less than 20% chance for rain across the
waters. Winds will increase to a moderate to fresh (BF 4-5) Tuesday
ahead of an approaching cold front. Winds will become moderate to
strong (BF 5-6) with gusts to near gale (BF 7) possible late
Tuesday night into Wednesday as a cold front surges toward the
waters. Winds will shift to the west and then north as the front
pushes across the waters Wednesday to Thursday. A low to medium
(20-45%) chance of showers and thunderstorms will return Tuesday
night and Wednesday as the cold front approaches.

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 1144 PM CDT Sun Mar 8 2026

Minimum relative humidity values above 35% as well as light winds
will limit fire weather concerns through Tuesday. A cold front
will approach and then surge across South Texas Wednesday,
dropping relative humidity values into the teens and increasing
winds. Elevated fire weather conditions are expected from
Wednesday through the end of the week.
