ACARS and forecast soundings continue to show a strongly capped
airmass. Showers and thunderstorms have not survived moving off
the higher terrain and the chance a shower survives and reaches
DEN and APA in the next few hours is very low.Southeasterly winds
will continue. A Denver cyclone southwest of Denver tracks north
of DEN and APA. This causes southeast winds to shift to the
southwest late this evening. Eventually, we expect a weak turn to
the north or northwest around 09-10Z. Cross sections show a good
amount of mid and high cloud cover for tonight and Wednesday with
ceilings expected to stay above 6000 feet. A storm system moving
out of the Desert Southwest will bring scattered to numerous
showers and thunderstorms to the Central Rockies Wednesday
afternoon, but the best chance for showers and thunderstorms in
the Denver area is expected after 00Z Thursday.

terminal through 02Z with gusty winds near 35 kts accompanying
them. CIGS near 4 kft will be possible overnight with light
winds less than 10 kts. Southerly winds increase on Wednesday,
with another round of afternoon showers and thunderstorms
expected across the San Luis Valley after 21z.
KCOS...VFR conditions this evening, with southeast winds
overnight. This will likely lead to stratus development near 2
kft late tonight into Wednesday morning. Southeasterly winds
continue through Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms look to
hold off until after 00Z/Thurs.
KPUB...east to southeasterly winds will prevail overnight and
weaken this evening. The southeasterly winds will likely lead to
low stratus near 2 kft late tonight into Wednesday morning.
Southeasterly flow increased during the afternoon. Model
guidance suggests showers and thunderstorms moving to near KPUB
during the afternoon.

KSLC...The SLC terminal will see VFR conditions through the
overnight hours. Northwesterly winds are expected to return to the
south between 03Z and 05Z. There is a 30 percent chance that showers
and thunderstorms will bring impacts to the terminal during the
overnight hours, including lightning and gusty and erratic winds.
The most likely timeframe for this to occur is between 08Z and 12Z.
Southerly winds, occasionally gusty, are then expected to persist
Wednesday, with a 20 percent chance of showers bringing periods of
gusty and erratic winds during the afternoon.
REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions are expected to
persist across the airspace through the overnight hours, with breezy
southerly winds prevailing. Showers this evening will be focused
over southeastern portions of the airspace, with a 30 percent chance
of this area seeing gusty and erratic winds, lightning, or brief
mountain obscurations. For the overnight hours, the main threat
moves to approximately near a Cedar City to Evanston line, with
similar threats expected. Additional convection Wednesday afternoon
is expected to focus over the eastern half of the airspace.

Increasing moisture from the south brings increasing clouds
overnight, though ceilings remain VFR. Best rain chances occur
at KRKS, though models continue to be in a fairly large
disagreement on placement and timing of rain showers, so
confidence is low. Some lighter showers, or virga showers, may
make it as far north as KBPI, KLND, and KPNA, but currently
chances are too low to include in those TAFs. For Wednesday,
diurnal winds increase for the afternoon, with shower and
thunderstorm chances possible for the southern half of the area.

High confidence that VFR will prevail through the TAF period. The
main hazard over the next 24 hours will be scattered, gusty showers
primarily around KLAR and KRWL from around 16Z-20Z, which will have
the capability of brief vis reductions and erratic winds. Added a
PROB30 group at KRWL where confidence and shower coverage is
greatest at this time. There are lower (<30%) chances for showers
and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm at KLAR and KCYS tomorrow
afternoon, however confidence isn`t high enough at this time to
mention in TAFs. This will depend on evolution of mid-level clouds
overnight into tomorrow morning, which will allow for more
destabilization. Otherwise, expect primarily SE winds east of the
Laramie Range, with southwesterly flow prevailing to the west.

VFR conditions are expected to prevail across the area tonight.
An influx of low-level moisture will result in lowering ceilings
early Wednesday morning, with MVFR conditions expected to
develop around 07Z across southern portions of the area before
expanding into central and eastern Nebraska. MVFR ceilings may
persist through Wednesday afternoon, particularly across
northeastern portions of the forecast area into central
Nebraska.There is also some potential for IFR conditions,
especially between 07Z and 18Z Wednesday. However, confidence in
the coverage and duration of IFR conditions remains too low for
inclusion in the current TAF issuance. Some mist development
will also be possible Wednesday morning, though confidence
remains low at this time. Trends will continue to be monitored
over the next couple of TAF issuances. Winds will remain light
overnight before increasing Wednesday afternoon to 10 to 20
knots, with gusts up to 30 knots possible, particularly across
portions of the Sandhills.

Present radar and satellite imagery this evening has seen a much
earlier arrival to the front than most CAMs expected. this has
resulted in the environment being a bit too stable for storms to
develop and maintain themselves around terminals with confidence
in any activity starting to diminish. Still present CAMs have
seen some of the activity south of us eventually make its way up
here later tonight with potential to strengthen as it runs into
the front. Should this happen then it is possible for KAMA to see some
impacts in the form of lighting and heavy rainfall. As for KDHT
and KGUY, present CAMS are only see lingering activity have any
chance of making its way to the terminals with the bigger impacts
being low cloud decks overnight that will see the terminals drop
to MVFR conditions.

tonight and Wednesday, except for scattered to isolated activity
on the eastern plains. Most cells will move toward the northeast
around 15-25 KT. A few of the stronger cells this evening, and
Wednesday afternoon and evening, will be capable of producing
erratic wind gusts around 45 KT and small hail. Late tonight until
mid morning Wednesday, low clouds will produce MVFR and localized
IFR conditions east of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and south
of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to around Highway 60.
