.DISCUSSION...
Elevated fire weather conditions will continue through the
afternoon, especially on the Caprock. Current surface observations
show wind speeds over 15 mph for much of the region already. Wind
speeds will weaken by this evening. A cold front is progged to push
southward through the region late tonight through early Friday
morning with the winds shifting to the north, but remain light
through much of the day. RH values increase slightly to the upper
teens to lower 20s for Friday. Temperatures will cool tomorrow
following the front with expected highs in the 70s across the
region.
Elevated fire weather conditions will be possible Saturday. Another
cold front will push southward through the region bringing gusty
northerly winds behind the front. Temperatures will slightly
decrease to lower 60s up to upper 70s. Minimum RH values will be in
the upper teens to lower 20s.
