Flash Flood Warning
National Weather Service Charleston SC
636 AM EDT Sat Oct 10 2026

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina...

* Until 930 AM EDT.

* At 636 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, James Island, Johns Island, West
  Ashley, Downtown Charleston, Fort Sumter, Daniel Island, Folly
  Beach and Kiawah Island.

Very heavy rainfall is pushing onshore around Kiawah Island and Folly
Beach, producing hourly rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour. With
high tide approaching, the risk for flash flooding will only increase
over the next few hours. Intense rainfall will likely make travel
hazardous due to water covering roadways across Folly Beach, James
Island, Johns Island, West Ashley, and downtown Charleston.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Report flooding directly to the Charleston National Weather Service
