Subject: Weather Surveillance Radar-1988 Doppler (WSR-88D) Kadena Air
Base, Japan (RODN) Has Been Decommissioned

Effective November 25, 2024, the Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan
WSR-88D
(RODN) was decommissioned by the Department of Defense.  The
Department of
Defense will follow Federal property procedures and work with the
National
Weather Service to ensure the appropriate WSR-88D components are
identified as excess material for recovery by the NEXRAD Program.
