Dangerous wind chills as low as 50 below zero. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...North Slopes of the Western Alaska Range and Upper Kuskokwim Valley. * WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Monday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/2 mile due to blowing snow in channels open to the northeast. Dangerous wind chills as low as 50 below possible. Frostbite may occur in as little as 5 minutes to exposed skin. Additional Details: Northeasterly wind gusts of 30 to 50 mph are expected to create dangerous wind chills and occasionally reduce visibility due to blowing snow. The worst conditions are expected at higher elevations, but stronger gusts will occasionally reach down to the valley floor and produce these hazardous conditions. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling, especially in open areas. Dangerous wind chills as low as 50 below zero. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Eastern Norton Sound and Nulato Hills, Lower Yukon and Innoko Valleys, and Middle Yukon Valley. * WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Monday. * IMPACTS...Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility to as low as 1/2 mile at times in valleys and channels open to the northeast. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and result in isolated power outages. Additional Details: The strongest gusts are expected at higher elevations, but will occasionally reach the valley floor.
