.DISCUSSION...
Warm conditions will continue Sunday, although they will not be
as dry as previous days. Highs will widely be in the 80s in the
Western Interior north of the Lower Yukon Valley, and eastern and
northern parts of the Norton Sound will be in the upper 70s and
low 80s. Highs will be cooler in the southwestern Interior, with
highs in the upper 60s. Minimum RH values will generally be above
30 to 40 percent from Galena south, although Huslia north will
likely see values in the upper 20s or lower. Widely scattered
thunderstorms will be possible from Unalakleet to Huslia and from
the Western Brooks Range south to Galena. South winds up to about
15 mph will be possible, with similarly-strong north winds over
the Seward Peninsula. Temperatures will drop several degrees
Monday, with most areas falling into the upper 70s or lower, with
min RH values above 35 percent. Isolated to scattered showers and
isolated thunderstorms will be possible. Much cooler conditions
are likely Tuesday, with temperatures falling into the upper 60s
or lower across the area and RHs remaining above 30 percent.
Northerly flow will pick up late this morning and early this
afternoon on the coastline, with the strongest winds expected mid
week up to around 30 mph.
