.DISCUSSION...
Hot and dry conditions will continue across the Western Interior
through Saturday, with high temperatures rising into the 70s and
80s and minimum relative humidity values falling into the 20s and
30s north of the Lower Yukon Valley. The Lower Yukon Valley will
be a bit more humid, with min RH values in the upper 40s and 50s.
Isolated thunderstorms will be possible during that time frame,
with widely scattered thunderstorms possible on Saturday along the
foot of the Central Brooks Range and from the Lower and Middle
Yukon Valleys west to Norton Sound. Isolated thunderstorms will
also be possible across the Central and Southern Seward Peninsula
on Friday, especially over elevated areas. Any storms that form
will pose the risk of brief gusty, erratic winds. Winds will
otherwise generally be light in most of Western Alaska, although
northerly winds of 10 to 15 mph will be possible over the Seward
Peninsula on Saturday and from the Lower Yukon Valley to the YK
Delta on Sunday. Moister conditions are expected everywhere on
Sunday, with min RH values rising considerably in most areas. By
Monday, the Western Interior will mostly be in the 60s and low
70s, with isolated to scattered showers possible.
