.DISCUSSION....
Warm and relatively dry weather continues this evening, with high
temperatures broadly in the 70s and 80s and minimum relative
humidity values in the 30s and 40s percent for most non-coastal
locations. Temperatures will decrease somewhat tomorrow with min
RH values in the southern Western Interior rising into the 40s and
50s percent. Monday evening through midweek will see a marked
pattern change, with a front ushering in moist westerly flow and
bringing in much cooler and moister conditions to Western Alaska.
With the upper ridge being pushed south and breaking down through
the week, high temperatures in the Western Interior will fall into
the 60s and 70s Tuesday and the 50s and 60s Wednesday, with
widespread rain and showers, especially for the more northern
areas. Widely scattered thunderstorms will be possible from just
southeast of Lake Minchumina to west of Grayling, with isolated
thunderstorms possible elsewhere in the southwestern Interior.
Isolated thunderstorms will again be possible for most of the
southwestern Interior as well as for areas east of Ambler. From
Tuesday onward, thunderstorms become much less likely for Western
Alaska.
