.DISCUSSION...

Elevated and at least intermittently gusty west-southwesterly winds
are expected at the wildfire location through tonight, with some
local enhancement possible due to downsloping effects. Winds shift
more westerly on Friday morning, with gusts to 25 to 30 mph forecast
to continue until midday. A cold front will result in a northwesterly
wind shift by around noon PST, with gusty northwesterly winds continuing
thereafter. There is a 20-40% chance of snow showers tonight through
Friday evening as snow levels drop to around 3500 to 4500 ft, though
total accumulations will be light, generally around a half inch at the
wildfire site to 2 inches across the mountain tops, with wetting
precipitation not expected. RHs will remain well above critical levels
during the day, with good nocturnal recovery. Saturday night into
Sunday, wind gusts diminish and wind speeds drop to around 10 mph,
though remain northwesterly through Sunday afternoon before veering
to the northeast.
