Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service Tulsa OK
242 AM CST Fri Mar 7 2025

...ELEVATED TO NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS
AFTERNOON FOR MUCH OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND FAR NORTHWEST
ARKANSAS...

Unseasonably warm temperatures today combined with afternoon
humidity values falling into the 15 to 25 percent range and
breezy west to southwest winds will result in elevated to near
critical fire weather conditions this afternoon across much of
eastern Oklahoma and far northwest Arkansas. This combination of
breezy winds, warm temperatures, and very low humidity values will
lead to enhanced to near critical grassland fire spread rates.

A cold front will push into northeast Oklahoma and far northwest
Arkansas mid to late this afternoon, leading to a shift to
northwesterly winds for areas along and north of Highway 412. The
wind shift could impact any potential ongoing fire fighting
efforts.

Avoid outdoor activities that could inadvertently start a fire,
including proper disposal of cigarettes. Report any wildfires to
local officials.
