North-northeasterly winds gusting in the 25 to 30 mph range are ongoing in parts of northeast Oklahoma in the wake of a cold frontal passage. The gusty winds, in combination with lower moisture behind the front, are leading to an increased threat for rapid fire spread through mid to late afternoon. Wind speeds and gusts will trend downward through the afternoon. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Above normal temperatures will return areawide on Wednesday and continue well into the weekend. Temperatures in the 90s on Thursday, along with an increase in south to southwesterly winds, will lead to a limited threat for rapid fire spread across northeast Oklahoma in the afternoon.
