MONDAY...High Wind Potential. TUESDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Mid and upper level ridging will remain over the south central U.S. through Thursday, resulting in fair, but unseasonably warm weather. By late this week, a strong upper level disturbance and associated surface cold front will shift from the western states into the Plains. Thunderstorm chances will increase across eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas late Friday, with a couple rounds of thunderstorms possible through Saturday night across the area. The combination of atmospheric instability and wind shear will support a severe weather threat late Friday through Saturday, with the greatest risk on Saturday, when those parameters are expected to be strongest. High pressure will build into the Southern Plains on Sunday behind the cold front, returning fair weather to the region with more seasonal temperatures. Gusty southerly wind returns to the area Monday and Tuesday ahead of the next weather system, which will result in a warming trend ealry next week. weather.gov/tulsa contains additional information. $$ 69
