ONSET...Ongoing.

DISCUSSION...

Southwest winds will continue to gust to around 30 miles an hour
this afternoon, especially across parts northeast Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas. Warm temperatures and afternoon humidity values
falling to near or below 20 percent will combine with the winds to
result in an elevated fire weather danger today across all of
eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. A Red Flag Warning is
in effect for far northwest Arkansas through 7 PM.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Spotter Activation Not Expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
SATURDAY...No Hazards.
SUNDAY...High Wind Potential.
MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential.
TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential...
          Heavy Rain Potential.
WEDNESDAY...High Wind Potential.
THURSDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
The chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms will increase
Sunday night across parts of northeast Oklahoma, but limited
moisture and instability will keep any thunderstorms isolated and
weak.

A strong upper level storm system will bring better thunderstorm
chances late Monday night into Tuesday. Moisture, instability, and
shear will all be sufficient for a few severe storms, especially
from southeast Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas. Behind the system on
Tuesday afternoon, fire weather concerns may increase in parts of
eastern Oklahoma, depending on how much rain occurs earlier in the
day.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNING STATEMENT...
Continue to monitor the latest forecasts on the potential for
severe weather and increased fire weather concerns next week.
