DOUGLAS...NORTHERN OSAGE...SOUTHEASTERN POTTAWATOMIE...SOUTHERN
JACKSON AND NORTHERN LYON COUNTIES THROUGH 1245 AM CDT...

At 1145 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported gusty showers along
a line extending from near Keats to 4 miles northeast of Council
Grove Lake. Movement was east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Strong wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. Reports of winds in excess of 50
         mph were reported with the showers as they move through the
         area since 1130 PM.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Alma, Topeka, Maple Hill, Harveyville, Richland, Perry, Pleasant
Grove, Eudora, Alta Vista, Wamego, Dwight, Lone Star, Rossville,
Belvue, Hoyt, McLouth, Vinland, Overbrook, Auburn, and Valley Falls.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 between mile markers 307 and 355.
 Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 154 and 205.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Strong winds with these showers will occur as winds mix down from
aloft.
