REMARKS...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH TIED FOR THE EIGHTH WARMEST
OCTOBER ON RECORD. DAILY RECORD HIGHS WERE TIED ON OCTOBER 12 AND
SET ON OCTOBER 24 AND 28. THE RECORD HIGH OF 92 ON THE 24TH WAS THE
WARMEST TEMPERATURE SO LATE IN THE YEAR. A RECORD HIGHEST MINIMUM
WAS ALSO SET ON OCTOBER 29...BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD BY SIX
DEGREES.

PRECIPITATION FROM OCTOBER 1 THROUGH OCTOBER 23 WAS ONLY 0.05
INCHES...BUT TWO RAINFALL EVENTS...INCLUDING A RECORD 1.42 INCHES ON
OCTOBER 30...PUT THE MONTHS TOTAL AT JUST ABOVE NORMAL. WINDS FROM
THUNDERSTORMS ON THE EVENING OF OCTOBER 24 WERE MEASURED AT 62 MPH
AT BILLARD AIRPORT AND PRODUCED TREE DAMAGE ACROSS CENTRAL AND
NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE CITY. SOUTH WINDS GUSTED FROM 35 TO 50 MPH
FROM MIDDAY OF OCTOBER 28 THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON OF OCTOBER 30
WHEN PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED. THE PERSISTENT
WINDS ALSO LEAD TO TREE AND POWER LINE DAMAGE.
