Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North-Central Montana
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
255 PM MDT Tue Jul 8 2025

.DISCUSSION...

An upper level ridge across the area will keep us warm with dry
air across North Central and Central Montana today and Wednesday.
However, this ridge will begin to break down Wednesday afternoon,
which will allow gusty winds and a few showers and thunderstorms
to develop across the area, which will result in increased fire
risk late tomorrow afternoon. Cooler air pushes into the area on
Thursday along with a few light rain showers, with temperatures
slowly warming back up over the weekend.
