.DISCUSSION...
The strong high pressure ridge will keep the area very warm and
dry today. A few thunderstorms may develop over the mountains, but
light winds aloft will likely keep them from moving out onto the
plains, but surface winds will likely be breezy and easterly.
A disturbance riding over the ridge will bring a better chance of
thunderstorms to most of the area on Thursday. Storms over the
plains will have a better chance of producing moisture, but the
overall low relative humidity will make isolated dry lightning
strikes and erratic wind gusts to 35 mph the main threats.
