404 FNUS55 KTFX 020849 FWFTFX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North-Central Montana National Weather Service Great Falls MT 249 AM MDT Wed Jul 2 2025 .DISCUSSION... Ridging aloft will maintain hot, mostly dry days and mild nights through Thursday. Afternoon relative humidity values will drop to critically low levels with moderate to poor overnight recoveries, lowest at the mid- slopes. Scattered showers and thunderstorms expand northward to include all zones today, some with strong to severe wind gusts, especially east of I15. A few storms may continue into the overnight hours, but drier west to northwesterly breezes will shift the focus of shower and thunderstorm activity to the southern zones on Thursday. Periods of showers and thunderstorms and cooling temperatures are then expected heading into the holiday weekend, with the best chance for widespread wetting rains late Friday into Saturday.
