...Significant Rainfall Tonight Through Wednesday Across Portions of
North-Central Montana...

A strong early fall storm system will spread an increasing coverage
of showers and thunderstorms into the area this afternoon and
evening with widespread rain developing tonight and continuing into
Wednesday afternoon before gradually diminishing from west to east
Wednesday night.

Brief heavy rainfall is possible with thunderstorms this evening
with a more widespread coverage of moderate to locally heavy rain
developing tonight through Wednesday morning. Total rainfall amounts
in excess of one inch are expected across much of north-central
Montana east of I-15
with probabilities for rainfall amounts in excess of two inches
ranging from 40% to 60% across much of Judith Basin, Fergus,
Chouteau and Blaine counties. Highest rainfall totals will likely
occur in the immediate vicinity of the Little Belt, Highwood and Big
Snowy mountains where there is a 30% chance of rainfall amounts
exceeding 3 inches.

Local flooding concerns may arise in flood prone areas and in areas
near terrain where heavier rain is most persistent as well as some
urban and rural areas with poor drainage.
