.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 105 AM EST Fri Feb 28 2025
A weak cold front will sink south over the region today and will
stall across the central Florida peninsula as it becomes parallel
to the U/L flow. Drier air/lower dew points will advect over west
central Florida this afternoon, while temperatures will remain
near climatic normals. The frontal boundary will dissipate over
the area tonight. A reinforcing area of high pressure will build
over the Florida peninsula during the weekend with mostly sunny
skies each day and continued seasonable temperatures.

The area of high pressure will move off the mid Atlantic coast
early next week, which will cause boundary layer winds to shift to
the east off the Atlantic. This will cause temperatures and low
level moisture to gradually increase each day through mid week.

A cold front will push across west central and southwest Florida
Wednesday night and early Thursday with showers likely and a
slight chance of thunderstorms. High pressure will build back over
the forecast area in the wake of the front with cooler drier air
advecting across the region on gusty north to northwest winds.
