276 FXUS62 KTBW 082340 AFDTBW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 740 PM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025 ...New DISCUSSION, AVIATION... .DISCUSSION... Issued at 730 PM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025 A cold front has pushed south of the forecast area, but over- running behind the front is creating an area of cloudiness across west central and southwest Florida this evening. As the front continues to move away from the region, much cooler drier air will advect across the forecast area with skies clearing overnight from north to south. COC day on tap for Wednesday with sunny skies, comfortable humidity levels, and relatively breezy north to northwest winds. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s north/central, and lower 80s south. && .SHORT TERM (TDY-WED)... Issued at 108 PM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025 Ample cloud coverage remains across the peninsula along with a few showers still streaming in areas along SW portions of the state. This activity will continue as frontal boundary continues to move south through this afternoon and early evening. Skies should begin to clear tonight with overnight lows drop into 50s for most with areas along the coast staying around 60 degrees. By Wednesday, high pressure begins to build over the Gulf pushing slightly drier and cooler air (at least for a second) with afternoon temperatures warm up a degree or two but dry air will make conditions feel very comfortable. && .LONG TERM (THU-MON)... Issued at 108 PM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025 On Thursday, aforementioned high pressure weakens allowing moisture top creep in from the east. This could bring a sprinkle or two during the afternoon over interior locations. At the same time, a deep upper level trough travels across the country and approaches the region Friday into Saturday. Model guidance keeps most of the upper level support north of our CWA and not a lot of moisture available, so at the moment not a lot activity is anticipated. At the very least, an increase in clouds to help a little bit with the warm temperatures. The U/L low lifts north and strong high pressure builds behind it. Much drier and slightly cooler temperatures, at least overnight, will follow. Afternoon highs climb up into the mid to upper 80s by early next week with rain free conditions staying in place. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 730 PM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025 Areas of MVFR CIGs for the next several hours will affect mainly terminals from SRQ and south. Skies will clear later tonight with VFR conditions and breezy north to northwest winds developing, which will persist through Wednesday. && .MARINE... Issued at 108 PM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025 A few showers remain over the southern waters, but should gradually through this afternoon and evening. High pressure will fill in behind the front, with north and northwest winds subsiding through the next couple of days. && .FIRE WEATHER... Issued at 108 PM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025 High pressure builds behind recent cold front pushing cooler and relatively drier air today into Wednesday. Relative humidity will drop into the low 30s in a few spots on Wednesday afternoon, but winds will not be high enough for Red Flag warnings. High dispersion indices are expected Wednesday afternoon. Then, another system could bring the potential for very little rain Friday into Saturday. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
